Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Privacy is a core design principle of Clenio. Photo-library analysis occurs on your device. Clenio does not upload your photos or videos to servers controlled by the developer.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Clenio iOS application (“Clenio” or the “App”) and explains how information is handled when you use it. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
2. Information We Process
| Category | Purpose | Processing and storage |
|---|---|---|
| Photos, videos, and related metadata | Identify similar photos, duplicate photos, screenshots, and large videos; create thumbnails, previews, and cleanup suggestions. | Processed on your device through Apple’s Photos framework and not transmitted to the Clenio developer. |
| Local scan results | Store asset identifiers, file sizes, dates, dimensions, durations, and locally generated comparison values for cached results and incremental updates. | Stored in the App’s local application data directory on your device. |
| Free cleanup allowance | Record the number of free removed items used to enforce the 20-item free allowance. | Stored in the device Keychain and may remain after the App is uninstalled and reinstalled. |
| Subscription status and transaction results | Offer monthly or yearly subscriptions, verify entitlements, process purchases, and restore purchases. | Handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Clenio does not receive your full payment-card details. |
3. Photos Permission and On-Device Analysis
Clenio accesses your photo library only after you grant permission. You may grant full access or access to selected photos. The permission scope affects the completeness of scan results.
- The core scanner is configured not to actively download original assets that exist only in iCloud and are not stored on the device.
- When you intentionally preview an item, Apple’s Photos service may retrieve that media according to your device and iCloud settings. This is handled by Apple’s services and does not pass through servers operated by Clenio.
- You can change or revoke access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Clenio.
4. Removing Photos and Videos
Clenio asks Apple’s Photos framework to remove media only after you select items, confirm removal, and approve the system request. Items generally move to Recently Deleted and may synchronize to other devices according to your iCloud Photos settings. Apple Photos controls recovery periods and final deletion.
5. What We Do Not Do
- We do not upload your photos or videos to servers controlled by the Clenio developer.
- We do not sell your photos, videos, or personal information.
- We do not use your media to train artificial-intelligence models.
- We do not serve third-party advertising or track you across apps or websites.
- The current version does not require a Clenio account.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple Photos, StoreKit, and App Store services for library access, removal, and subscriptions. Apple may process related information under its own policies. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
7. Retention and Deletion
Scan results and analysis caches remain in the App’s local storage and are generally deleted when the App or its application data is removed. The free-allowance record stored in Keychain may persist after uninstallation to prevent repeated installations from resetting the allowance. Apple retains App Store transaction records under its own policies.
To remove local scan caches, you may uninstall the App. Manage photo-library items in Apple Photos and subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Security
Clenio relies on the iOS sandbox, system permissions, and Keychain to protect local information. No electronic storage method can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and Apple ID.
9. Children’s Privacy
Clenio does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App provides no developer-operated account system or server and does not intentionally create child user profiles. Contact us if you believe a child-privacy issue requires attention.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy if features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Where reasonably practicable, material changes will also be communicated in the App.
11. Contact Us
