1. Acceptance and Apple terms
By downloading, purchasing, or using VidShrink, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement; if you are a minor, a parent or guardian must authorize your use where required.
These terms supplement the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"). The Apple Standard EULA applies except where we provide valid additional terms here. If a conflict cannot be reconciled, mandatory law and the Apple Standard EULA control to the extent required.
2. The service
VidShrink is an iOS utility that compresses selected videos locally on your device and lets you preview or save results. Availability, output size, processing time, and quality depend on the source video, device, storage, selected settings, iOS, and Apple frameworks. Selecting an iCloud item may require Apple to download it before processing can begin.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of videos and other content you process. You are responsible for having all rights and permissions needed to select, compress, save, and share that content. Do not use VidShrink to infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights, or for unlawful content or conduct.
VidShrink does not require you to grant us a license to upload or use your videos because the normal compression workflow is performed on your device.
4. License and acceptable use
Subject to these terms and the Apple Standard EULA, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use VidShrink on compatible Apple devices you own or control as permitted by Apple.
You may not reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it, bypass purchase controls, disrupt the app or related services, distribute a modified copy, or use the app in a way that violates law or another person's rights.
5. Free and Pro features
The free version currently supports single-video compression with the options shown in the app. Pro currently unlocks batch processing, high-quality compression, original-resolution output, and other features clearly marked as Pro. The exact feature set may evolve as the app is updated. Features already included in an active paid entitlement will not be removed solely to force a duplicate purchase, subject to technical, legal, and App Store constraints.
6. Subscriptions
Monthly and yearly Pro plans are auto-renewable subscriptions processed by Apple. The exact price, currency, billing period, and any trial or offer are displayed in the app and App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Apple states otherwise.
7. Lifetime access
Lifetime access is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks eligible Pro features for as long as VidShrink remains available and compatible, subject to these terms, technical feasibility, and applicable law. "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the product, not the purchaser's lifetime, and does not promise every separate product or service we may offer in the future.
8. Restore, billing, and refunds
Use the app's Restore Purchases control while signed in to the Apple Account used for purchase. Purchases, billing, cancellations, and refunds are administered by Apple under its rules. To request billing help or a refund, visit Apple Support for billing and subscriptions. We cannot directly issue App Store refunds.
9. Files, backups, and output
Compression is inherently lossy for many settings and may reduce visual or audio quality. Preview important results and keep backups of source videos before deleting originals. Ensure sufficient device storage and power during processing. Temporary files may be removed by iOS, and saved results remain subject to your Photos, iCloud, and backup settings.
10. Updates and availability
We may update, repair, replace, or discontinue features to improve the app, maintain compatibility, meet legal requirements, or address security and technical issues. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device, codec, file, or future iOS version. Mandatory consumer rights and Apple's purchase rules remain unaffected.
11. Intellectual property
VidShrink, including its software, interface, name, and original assets, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app to you.
12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VidShrink is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. We do not guarantee a particular compression ratio, output quality, processing time, or preservation of every metadata field.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using and delete the app at any time. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, fraud, or a material breach of these terms. This does not limit rights attached to valid App Store purchases except as permitted by Apple rules and applicable law.
14. Governing terms and changes
Applicable law governs these terms, while preserving any mandatory consumer protections available where you live. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
We may update these terms when the app, paid offering, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised terms here and update the date above. If a material change requires consent under applicable law, we will request it before the change takes effect for you.
